I’ve just tested and bought a new domain myself. Including the ICANN fees, it comes out to a total of only $2.19 for a brand new .com domain which is a steal!
The only problem is that they only allow credit cards or check as the payment option when you use this coupon code.

I’ved use the 199DOMAIN for a new .US domain so it went pretty well (.us normally cost $20/yr)
