Is AdBrite a good alternative for Adsense? Find out how Alexa.com is using AdBrite to make $90,000 a month.
Note: It does not violate Google's Terms of Service to use Adsense alongside Adbrite.
What is and What Does AdBrite Offer?
AdBrite is as their website says, "The Internet's Ad MarketPlace". They offer 6 different ad formats as opposed to Google's 3. They offer text ads (CPC), banners (CPM), full page ads (CPM), inline ads (CPC) , video ads (CPC) and picture ads (CPC).
For those wondering, the best feature about AdBrite is probably their ability for you to sell your ad space to any 3rd party. You simply set the price it'll cost for an advertiser to place his ads there and AdBrite will do the rest.
This feature to sell flatrate ads is currently being used by Alexa.com to earn an extra $90,000 a month and is also being used by popular websites such as ebay, yahoo, digg, lycos and neopets. They sell 6 ad spaces and each spot costs $15,000 a month.
Their text ads (CPC) definately don't compare in terms of earnings but it can still perform well, depending on how you utilize them. Their video and picture ads allow you to place ads inside your videos and pictures which'll probably generate a decent earning for anyone hosting a picture or video blog/site.
What I personally use them for is their CPM banners however. They pay really well compared to some other CPM networks; I've got one ad that pays $4.50 per 1,000 views! However to get only their banner ads, you'd need to manually target which ads appear on your site. For $4.50 per 1,000 views, that's not really a problem for me.
Is AdBrite Worth It?
You'll probably need to test this out yourself as something that'll work for one site probably won't work for another. They have 6 different ad formats so you can probably test all of them to see which one will work best on your site.
If you're looking for a new monetization option such as CPM or perhaps something happened with your Adsense account, give Adbrite a try and see how it works out. In my opinion, they're a top-rated ad network and you have nothing to lose except a chance to potentially earn more money. Here's the site to AdBrite:
